Margaritaville

It seems summer vacation and family trips go hand in hand. With summer months around the corner, as well as spring break sneaking up fast, you might be thinking about where to visit and what the kids will enjoy. Margaritaville offers an all in one vacation location for family fun with multiple locations which have their unique flare, accommodations, and fit families of all sizes and age groups.

My family and I stayed at the Biloxi location. This hotel caters more to kids, has three restaurants, different bars located throughout the hotel, a cafe in the lobby, a floor dedicated for an expansive arcade, and a great pool area for parents to relax while the kids enjoy playing in the summer sun. The resort has rooms over looking the harbor with breath taking views of the sunset. The rooms are very spacious and include a lot of extras such as rooms service from the Margaritaville restaurant, complimentary water bottles, and a mini-fridge. We stayed in a room with two queen beds and still had space to set up a pack and play for our youngest.

One of the great things about staying there was an abundance of places to eat. The variety of restaurants gave us plenty of options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner without having to drive anywhere. We mostly ate at the Margaritaville restaurant because they offered many gluten-free items on the menu for all meals, and it was kid-friendly. The servers did a fantastic job answering all questions, making sure any food allergies/intolerances were noted and appropriately handled when the food was being prepared. Another reason we ate here was the entertainment. This restaurant plays music, music videos on small tv by some tables, and every hour the volcano rock climbing wall will erupt. You can also listen to live bands play and sing karaoke on Saturdays nights. However, my kids enjoyed the pirate stilt walkers, who made balloon animals during dinner time. The entertainment was endless.

On the way out of town, we stopped by another restaurant, which was terrific. Half Shell Oyster House had a great variety on their main menu as well as on their gluten-free. The atmosphere and decor showed the history of the restaurant and town. The exposed brick on the inside, ironwork outside on the second balcony, and exposed ceiling gave this restaurant so much character it was hard to take everything in while we ate lunch. I can’t wait to revisit and try more of their delicious food.
