Worry Free Travel

Planning for a family vacation can be a daunting task. Checklists tend to include the basics such as clothes, bathing suits, sunscreen, shoes, and underwear. Not to mention making sure there are snacks for the car ride, favorite toys and blankets close by for impromptu nap times, and scheduled potty breaks for the little travelers. Everything is in the car, suitcases are ready to go, and you are on your way to fabulous vacation with everything you need for a grand time. However, there might be one small thing you have overlooked that tends to miss the “official checklist” cut.
Travel insure seems to be the one item people forget about or not invest in when traveling. When traveling local or not too far from home, it is not something I tend to purchase, however, a year and a half ago I was on a ski trip with my husband (one of the trips we take during the year without the kids), and I was involved in an accident. I tore my ACL while skiing down the mountain. I had a nice chariot ride down half the mountain with the snow patrol and was glad I didn’t have to go to the hospital. I was fortunate to have only injured my knee and was able to hang out at the lodge while others enjoyed the rest of the trip.
When going to a foreign country or a place I know I won’t be able to drive home in under six hours, I purchase travel insurance. With this added sense of security, trips go a lot smoother, and I know if something were to happen, my family is covered; this was the case when we went on our cruise. We had a wonderful time exploring the different ports, eating different food, and having fun experiencing various excursions. We splashed in the water park, rode the merry go round, and concurred rock walls, surfing, and boogie boarding without the added weight of “what if something happens.”
In the past, what stopped me from purchasing travel insurance was the headache when trying to figure out the best policy. Travel Insurance Master has streamlined the experience to help you choose a company and plan that suits your travel and family needs without the added confusion and overpriced policies. They have options for all budgets, and you can get a quote before purchasing so you know you are getting the best deal. They make the process simple, stress free, and are there to help from start to finish even if you have to file a claim. Travel Insurance Master will forever be on our “vacation checklist,” so we have peace of mind on every trip.

We always have travel insurance, but it seems that some are not valid for cancellations in a pandemic.

Thank you for the reminder to always get travel insurance. I am not as good at that as I should be. I will check out Travel Insurance Master for my next trip.

I’m glad we had it on cruise if an emergency was to happen but very thankful we didn’t have to use it.

We always get travel insurance, too. We like having the peace of mind that we are covered if there is a medical emergency on our trip!
Carey M
The peace of mind is why we purchase as well.

We haven’t used travel insurance often in the past, but I think we’ll be adding it from now on!

The ski trip was an eye opener for why travel insurance is a great thing to have just in case.

I have actually never purchased travel insurance. So far so good! But my mother in law got cancer and had to cancel two cruises at her expense!
Carey M
I’m so sorry to hear this. I hope everything is well now with your mother in law.

Great info! We sometimes get travel insurance for our trips that are a big investment. Most four trips are road trips without deposits, though. It’s something to consider for every trip.
Carey M
I have learned to expect the unexpected even on road trips although road trips make it easier to find a place if needed.

I like your tip that if you are father than 6 hours from home, you order travel insurance.

I always have travel insurance for international travel.

That’s a great plan. Hopefully you wont need it but at least you are covered if you do.

We actually bought travel insurance for our May 2020 trip to Europe, but didn’t end up needing it since everything we refunded anyway. But it was nice to have it just in case.
Carey M
I’m sorry you had to miss your trip but glad you were able to get your money back.

It’s always a roll of the dice without the insurance!
Carey M
Yes, it is.

Great post! When I sold guided vacations I had to talk through the intricacies of travel insurance with people constantly. I have definitely gotten a wide range of views from people on it.
Carey M
That sound interesting. I’m sure everyone had their reasons to purchase or not to purchase.

We loved our stop in Cozumel. We actually took the ferry to Playa del Carmen and explored Rio Secreto. Amazing!

Travel insurance is such a great idea especially when traveling outside the country. And this one sounds pretty easy to understand.
Carey M
I agree! Traveling far from home is fun but you never know what might happen.
