Best Multigeneration and Family Vacations

Taking vacations as a family is something we look forward to every year. We love exploring new places, trying new experiences, tasting fresh foods, and learning about the world. However, some trips are more fun when making memories with multiple generations. We have been lucky to take a few trips with grandparents, cousins, aunts, and uncles to various destinations. This has resulted in some of the best memories we’ve made as a family. Here are a few of our favorite places to vacation and a few we plan to visit.

Amusement Parks/Water Park

Amusement and water parks bring out the kid in all of us. This is why they are fantastic destinations for a memorable vacation. Between the rides, games, characters, food, shows, and special events, the parks keep a smile on the whole family’s face, creating some of the best memories young and old will remember for a lifetime. One of the biggest perks is they can be found almost anywhere in the world. The ability to visit different parks at some locations also allows the family to experience new adventures.

Cruise Vacations

For many reasons, a cruise is our number one choice for a large family vacation. First, the amenities onboard a ship are enough to please everyone in the family. There are shows, shops, workshops, sports, game areas, nightclubs, comedy shows, and more. Second, the variety of foods is fantastic and will please even the pickiest of eaters. Ice cream shops, pizza, Italian restaurants, steak houses, buffets, smoothie bars, the list goes on and on. I suggest a cruise for the food lover in any family. Third, the excursion offered in each port. These options are the best part of the vacation. Since everyone can create small groups to visit places, explore new cities, or have new experiences such as paragliding, snorkeling, and more.

All-inclusive Vacations

All-inclusive locations are great options for family events. These places offer lodging, various food options, sports, spa packages, and drinks for adults and kids. Another perk is that there are many all-inclusive locations, such as tropical, winter, and land and sea. An all-inclusive location is perfect for multigenerational families interested in the same atmosphere, country, or activities. Certain places offer a few activities throughout the day, so be sure to check with the resort to see everything provided.

Dude Ranch

If you or your kids have ever wanted to know what it would be like to live like a cowboy, visiting an all-inclusive dude ranch is an excellent place for a family vacation. These ranches offer lodging in unique cabins, tents, and even teepees. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are served daily, as well as s’mores by the campfire. Everyone can enjoy many outdoor activities, from horseback riding, fishing, hiking, rodeos, and much more. Dude ranches can be found in many different places and offer various activities, so be sure to book the right location for your family.

Camping or Glamping

Our family loves the outdoors, hiking, fishing, kayaking, and sitting by the campfire, so camping or glamping (fancy camping) has been on our list of things to do with the kids and the grandparents. More campgrounds are offering both settings at different locations on the grounds to provide places for traditional camping and areas for a more upscale experience. The glamping options at some campgrounds also offer experiences with the stay in a yurt. For a little extra, you can buy packages such as s’mores, outdoor adventure, or snacks in your yurt for your visit. Outdoor activities are also available to those who are camping on the grounds.
